Getting the most out of the set.
Everything below applies to both bottles. Read the lids section first. It is the one rule that matters for safety.

Helavis is a small independent brand and this set is our first product. Every order is someone choosing a new name over a familiar one, and that means a great deal to us.
If something is not right, or you are unsure about anything in this guide, write to us. We answer our own email, and we would rather hear about a problem than have you live with it. Tell us what you liked too, and what we should change in the next run. That is how a small brand gets better.

Quick start
First five minutes.
Do this once, before the first drink, and the set is ready for daily use.
Wash before first use
Hand wash both bottles and both lids with warm water and mild dish soap, then rinse and air dry. Take the lids apart first: see cleaning.
Pick the lid for the drink
Straw lid for cold and iced drinks. Non-straw lid for anything hot. Either lid screws onto either bottle, so you are choosing a drinking style, not a bottle.
Fill, then close fully
Leave a small gap at the top and turn the lid until it stops. Both lids are leakproof when correctly assembled and fully closed. A partially threaded lid is not.
Attach your phone
Flip the ring on the lid up, bring the back of the phone to it and let the magnet centre it. Then tilt the ring to the angle you want; the hinge holds it there.
Make it yours
Peel a sticker from the included waterproof sheet and apply it to a clean, dry section of the bottle body. Press firmly from the centre outwards.
Lids
Two lids, either bottle.
The set ships with the white bottle wearing the straw lid and the black bottle wearing the non-straw lid. That is a starting configuration, not a fixed one.
Non-straw lid
Hot or cold
Coffee, tea and other hot drinks, and cold drinks too if you prefer drinking from the rim. Use the non-straw lid for hot drinks: it is the only lid for anything hot.
Open slowly when the contents are hot.
Phone mount
Ring, hinge, angle.
The ring on top of each lid is the mount. It is designed to hold a compatible phone securely without harming the phone battery, and the hinge holds whatever angle you set. The same ring is the carry handle.
Flip the ring up
Lift the ring on its hinge. It stays where you leave it, upright or tilted.
MagSafe phones
Attach directly. Bring the back of the phone close to the ring and let the magnet pull it into alignment rather than forcing the position.
Non-MagSafe phones and cases
Use one of the two included adhesive magnetic adapter rings on a suitable phone or case. Clean and dry the surface first, centre the ring on the back of the phone or case, then press for about 30 seconds and leave it to bond before mounting.
Thick or metal cases
A thick case increases the distance to the magnet and weakens the hold. If the phone slides, apply the adapter ring to the outside of the case rather than to the phone itself.
Set the angle
Tilt the ring to the angle you need. It holds position, so you can set it once for your desk and leave it there.
Use it as a handle
The same ring is the grip: pick the bottle up and carry it by the ring.
Use the mount on a stable surface. It is designed for a bottle standing on a table, desk, counter, bench or gym rack, on a lowered tray table while seated, or in a parked car's cup holder. Never mount, adjust or use a phone while driving, on a bike, or anywhere a fall could cause injury or damage.
Cleaning and care
Hand wash only.
Dishwashers, boiling sterilisation and abrasive scourers all shorten the life of an insulated bottle. A few minutes by hand keeps the seal, the finish and the insulation intact.
Take the lid apart
Both lids come apart for cleaning. Separate the components, including the straw on the straw lid, so water reaches every surface.
Warm water, mild soap, soft brush
A bottle brush for the body, a narrow straw brush for the straw. Avoid steel wool, bleach and abrasive powders.
Check the transparent straw
The straw is clear on purpose, so hold it to the light. If you can see residue, it needs another pass.
Air dry with the lid off
Leave the bottle open and upside down until fully dry. Storing it sealed while damp is what causes odour.
Fridge safe, never the microwave
The bottles can go in the fridge. They must never go in a microwave, a freezer, an oven or a dishwasher.
The matte finish
It hides fingerprints and handling marks. Wipe the outside with a damp cloth; skip solvents and abrasives.

Troubleshooting
If something isn't right.
Most issues come down to one of four things. If none of these solve it, get in touch. We handle support directly.
My phone slips off the ring
Usually case thickness. Try the phone without its case to confirm the magnet holds. If it does, apply one of the included adhesive adapter rings to the outside of the case instead of to the phone. Make sure the ring and the back of the phone are clean and dry, and that the ring is flipped fully into position.
The bottle leaks
Check that the lid is threaded all the way until it stops, and that the lid was reassembled correctly after cleaning. A seal or gasket seated slightly off will let liquid through. Also check you have not overfilled it: leave a small gap at the top.
Drinks aren't staying hot or cold as long as expected
Pre-conditioning makes a large difference. Rinse the bottle with hot water before a hot drink, or with cold water and ice before a cold one, and fill it right away. Opening the bottle frequently, filling it only partly, or leaving it in direct sun or a hot car will all shorten retention.
There's an odour, or the straw looks cloudy
Almost always a drying problem rather than a washing problem. Take the lid apart fully, wash every part, and then air dry with the lid off and the bottle inverted until completely dry before storing. Hold the transparent straw up to the light to confirm it is clear.
Can I put it in the dishwasher?
No. The set is hand wash only. Dishwasher heat and detergents can damage the finish, the seals and the vacuum insulation.
